Malki participates in the inauguration ceremony of Venezuelan President Nicholas Maduro

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and expatriates, Dr. Riad al-Malki, participated in the inauguration ceremony of Venezuelan President Nicholas Maduro Moros, who was re-elected May last month for a second term, for the period 2019-2025.

During his participation, he met with a number of presidents, Ministers of Foreign Affairs and senior officials attending the ceremony, including the Presidents of Bolivia, Cuba, Nicaragua, El Salvador, the Vice-President of Turkey, the Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Saint Kitts and Nevis and the foreign Ministers and Trinidad and Tobago.

Malki congratulated President Maduro for his second presidency and wished him success in the service of the brotherly Venezuelan people, and conveyed to him the congratulations and wishes of President Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian leadership who are always standing alongside Venezuela and its people, because Palestine does not forget its friends.

Malki also met with the Venezuelan vice president, Dr. Delsey Rodriguez, and discussed the latest political developments, relations and the important role played by Palestine at the international and UN levels, especially after chairing the Group of 77 of China at the United Nations.

Rodriguez said the Palestinian issue is one of the pillars of Venezuelan foreign and national policy, and the relations between the two countries are stronger than ever and they look forward to the cooperation prospects of President Maduro's new mandate.

Minister Dr. Malki also met with his Venezuelan counterpart Jorge Arelaza and discussed the strong bilateral relations between the two countries.

Minister Dr. Malki also met with the Turkish vice President, Mr. Fouad Okukai, on the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony, and placed him in the latest developments on the political scene, especially after Trump's decision to move his embassy to Jerusalem and thanked him for Turkey's extraordinary stance in confronting this decision, as they discussed the mechanism of moving Joint response to the challenges facing the leadership and the Palestinian people in the next phase.
